The Consecration of Ministers - Call to Obedience

Then Moses presented the other ram, which was the ram of consecration. Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the ram’s head, and Moses slaughtered it. Then Moses took some of its blood and applied it to the lobe of Aaron’s right ear, the thumb of his right hand, and the big toe of his right footNext Moses presented Aaron’s sons and applied some of the blood to the lobes of their right ears, the thumbs of their right hands, and the big toes of their right feet. (Lev 8:22 -24)

🌻The blood of the ram of consecration was used to symbolize the following:

🌻on Aaron’s ear to express Christ’s obedience unto death;

🌻on the right thumb, to express Christ’s willingness to do all that the Father required of Him;

🌻on the right toe, to express that all His ways pleased God.

🌻As our High Priest, the Lord Jesus was washed in His baptism, anointed with oil on the Mount of Transfiguration, and received the final baptism of consecration in blood on the Cross.

🌻The sons of Aaron were treated in like manner, to show that in all these things Christians are called to be like Christ.

 So He said to them, “You will indeed drink My cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: (Matt 20:23)

🌻In the New Testament we see consecration of Barnabas and Paul for the work of the ministry. The Lord expected them to hear him, follow him and walk where he will lead them.

While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” (Acts 13:2)

🌻The Lord has set many works ahead for which he expects us to walk into. A consecrated man is one who does not miss the mark because he hears the Lord, does what he wills and walks where he leads.

🌻Consecration, according to the Hebrew word, means to fulfil or accomplish. Therefore God’s consecration is to the end of fulfilling certain works.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Eph 2:10)

You are blessed.
