Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised
In the city of our God,
In His holy mountain.
Beautiful in elevation,
The joy of the whole earth,
Is Mount Zion on the sides of the north,
The city of the great King.
God is in her palaces;
He is known as her refuge. (Psa 48:1)
But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel. (Heb 12: 22 - 27).
The writer of Hebrews emphasises our coming to Mt. Zion which is described as beautiful beyond situation.Jerusalem is idealized as elevated and the cause of joy for all peoples. Certainly, the redemption there won rescues people from every tribe and tongue.
The coming to Zion in the company of the heavenly host, miracles, signs and woders and exceeding Joy.
Because God is in her palaces. Wow!
Imagine continually being in the presence of the King. Halleluyah.
