When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. (Mark 5: 27-27)
🌻What we know about the woman is, first, she had a bleeding condition, and the issue had continued for twelve years. Second, she had spent all her money on treatments from many doctors, and nothing had helped; in fact, the blood issue had only grown worse. We also know that Jewish Law declared her to be ceremonially unclean due to her bleeding issue (Leviticus 15:25-27).
🌻This meant that she would not have been permitted to enter the temple for Jewish religious ceremonies. According to the Law, anything or anyone she touched became unclean as well. The fact that she was in the crowd pressing around Jesus means that each person who bumped into her would have become unclean, too—including Jesus.
🌻So she was cut off from the presence of God for 12 years and had become completely hopeless.
“You must keep the Israelites separate from things that make them unclean, so they will not die in their uncleanness for defiling my dwelling place, which is among them.” (Lev 15:31)
🌻But, after twelve years of suffering, she was obviously desperate for a miracle.
🌻When she heard about Jesus (The Word from Heaven) the woman dropped her hopelessness and the laws that prevented her from going to public places and believed in her heart. She defied the previoous written laws and barriers that would have prevented her from her miracle.
🌻Like a cripple man who walks out of the wheel chair, she got out of the confines the law had placed on her and believed Jesus (the word of God) and yes! She got her miracle. When she heard of Jesus, Faith came in her Soul, and the rest is history! God honoured her Faith.
“Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering” (Mark 5:34)
🌻This woman's experience instructs us in what manner of men or women we should be, given that we have the word of God Daily. For we know that the only thing that Pleases God is Faith (Heb 11), and we have been called to a life of Faith!
but my righteous one shall live by faith, (Heb 10:38)
🌻Regardless of the limitations of the world, the dos and dont's the physical inadequacies we may carry, a man or woman with Faith will move heaven.
🌻They will do what no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor what anyone's mind has concieved! The will rise on wings like Eagles, their strength never runs out! They are unstoppable because God never stops Faith!
You are blessed!
