Leviticus 6
🌻The second part of Leviticus Chapter 6 gives instructions to the priests in offering the 5 types of sacrifices mentioned in chapters 1-5.
🌻Key to note was the handling of the ashes on the altar by ensuring the priest was well clothed, the offerings to be eaten only in the tablenacle by the priests and the instruction to keep the fire always burning.
Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Command Aaron and his sons, saying, ‘This is the law of the burnt offering: The burnt offering shall be on the hearth upon the altar all night until morning, and the fire of the altar shall be kept burning on it. (Lev 6:8-10)
🌻This first fire upon the altar came from heaven in (Lev 9:24) so that by keeping that continually all the sacrifices throughout the generations might be said to be consumed with that fire from heaven.
🌻In the New Testament, Paul gives an account of how to fan into flames the gift recieved of the Spirit.
I remember your genuine faith, for you share the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother, Eunice. And I know that same faith continues strong in you. This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you.(2 Tim 1: 6)
🌻This simply means that from the moment were made partakers of the divine life, we receive certain spiritual gifts upon impartation or laying on of hands or Being filled by the Spirit.
🌻These usually denote our assignment and the work the Lord has prepared ahead of us for his purpose.
and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. (Rev 1:6)
🌻We have received the Holy Spirit, who first appeared as tongues of fire upon the Apostles on the day of Pentecost signifying the fire on the altar.
🌻Pau’s exhortation to us in (1 Thes 5:19 ) Do not Quench the Spirit simply means that this fire can be put out. The gift stays, but the fire is put out.
Be Blessed
