CONCERNING THE BRIDE OF CHRIST - Holy & Without Blemish

🌻When it comes to the High Priest’s instructions for a wife in Leviticus 21, the Lord gave instructions clearly that she must be pure, having seen no man neither being a widow or prostitute because of the sanctification of the Lord upon the priest.

But he shall take as his wife a virgin of his own people, that he may not profane his offspring among his people, for I am the Lord who sanctifies him.”

(Lev 21: 14-15)

🌻Christ as our High priest therefore is mandated to get a virgin bride, that is, the Church.

🌻In the same portion of Lev 21, everyone who was to approach the Lord was to have no defect or blemish. Christ has to present a spotless bride before God.

🌻Therefore Christ by the washing of water by the word, has removes all spot and blemishes on his bride, the church.

Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. (Eph 5:25)

🌻Just like the 10 virgins that were waiting for the groom (Christ), we must allow the word to have its work and to give us wisdom. Like the 5 wise virgins, the washing of water by the word gives us wisdom on how to prepare for our Lord Jesus.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord”

(Col.3:16).

🌻The 5 foolish virgins ended up missing out because they lacked in affairs of wisdom. That’s why the Lord has given to the Church different gifts to ensure we grow up to where he wants us to be.

🌻As we continually spend time in the word, we receive wisdom, direction and all our spot and imperfections start to fade away.

And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,

(Eph 4:11-12)

You are blessed!
